The mock mediations are deliberately designed to test you. These are not straightforward exercises with an obvious path to settlement.
You will need to manage difficult dynamics, respond to unexpected developments, exercise judgement and adapt your approach—bringing you as close as possible to the pressure and uncertainty of a real mediation within a safe learning environment.
If you trained with another provider, MED may also provide a route to Hunt ADR Accredited Mediator status.
Where your previous training is eligible and you achieve the required assessment standard, your assessed mediation can operate as a conversion assessment.
During the live online day, you will:
Act as mediator in a recorded mock mediation
Participate in two further approved mock mediations
Work with realistic case papers and challenging party dynamics
Receive live facilitation and structured professional feedback
Reflect on your decisions, interventions and overall approach
Receive a detailed written assessment report and completion certificates
Your assessment will consider your preparation, management of the mediation process, communication, judgement, handling of difficult dynamics and approach to settlement and closure.
Cohorts are deliberately kept small so that everyone has a meaningful role and receives individual attention.
MED is suitable for trained and accredited mediators, including those who:
Are working towards CMC Registered Mediator status
Have recently completed their training and need practical experience

No. MED can provide four of the ten required Observation and Experience Points.
The CMC requires at least six points to come from mediating or observing real commercial or workplace mediations. Its rules also include requirements concerning the observation of CMC Registered Mediators, Fellows or members of a CMC Registered Provider’s panel.
MED provides the maximum four points currently available through two approved mock mediations. Registration decisions remain with the Civil Mediation Council.
